Sushruta Swasthya Kendram - New Health Care Center

The Institute Health Care Centre is responsible for providing health care services to about 8000 students and 800 staffs. Presently, we have three permanent doctors, two staff nurses, a pharmacist and a lab technician, with 24x7 emergency consultation. The present institute hospital building is insufficient to serve the current/future needs. To that, a new G+4 building is to be built with the ground and first floor serving as the new health care center.

The short-term plan is to build a G+1 building for meeting the immediate requirements. The new facility will lead to

1. Improved student and staff health and well-being by providing immediate access to medical care and early detection of issues and treatment.
2. The new center will act as central point for health-related communications. The facility will have isolation wards to cater for outbreaks.
3. Low cost health care options to students and reduces the students’ need to travel off-campus for basic health

The estimated budget for the proposed facility is ₹3 crore. The 1999 graduating batch contributed a seed amount of approximately ₹50 lakhs during their 25th campus reunion. Your generous contributions, big and small, will enable NIT Calicut to enhance its healthcare infrastructure, ensuring the health and safety of everyone on campus.
