The basketball courts located near the Central Computer Centre is key sports facility that serve students and staff. Presently, the state of the courts are suboptimal due to significant damage to the flooring and the absence of a proper drainage system. This proposal outlines the need for renovation to restore the courts to their former condition and includes the construction of a gallery space to accommodate spectators.
Current Issues -
-Worn out and damaged flooring with cracks and uneven surfaces that pose a risk of injury to players
-Inadequate drainage & waterlogging which makes the court unusable for extended periods and deteriorate the surface.
-Lack of seating or gallery space for spectators.
Proposed Renovation Plan
Court Renovation
(a) Surface - Construction of a basement with RCC upon existing court, plastering, and prepare the surface with high-quality paint.
(b) Drainage System Installation: Implementation of an effective drainage system, proper slopes, drains with quick runoff of rainwater.
Construction of Gallery Space: A strategically placed gallery for optimal view with seating for at least 400 spectators, Provision for additional facilities such as restrooms, water stations, and accessible pathways, if possible.
Perimeter Fencing: Installation of fencing around the courts,
Landscaping: Enhancement of the surrounding area with landscaping to improve the aesthetic appeal of the facility.
